1. Message being sent: America can never forget how Americans got here today. In order for America to move in a new direction we need to build further on the foundation left to all of us. America can only grow in these new times if we work backwards to go forwards in order to make a significant difference in the new direction that America is going.
2. Speech delivery: Excellent! President Obama had great eye contact, stage presence and poise. I believe he memorized his speech. He started out his speech monotone then he added inflection when he made the points he wanted to get across to the crowd. His voice also respectfully soften when mentioning the tomb of the unknown solidier in Arlington.
3. Scale 1-10: I would rate speech a 7. The context of his speech was good. I expected something a little bit more superb. So many references through the media about President Obama's admiration for President Lincoln I expected a timeless speech that would be forever memorable. Not that this one is not in it's own way.
4. Speech Interference: During President Obama's swearing in you could hear wind going through the mike, emergency sirens in the background and an airplane faintly going by. When he began his speech you could hear whistling from the crowd, cheers, mike noise, airplanes and applause.
5. Speech Improvement: President Obama took ownership of this speech. It is his thoughts and notions articulate to the American people. You could hear his voice during his presentation. My speech would have been more about Americans new role in these new times of growth and the unity needed to secure freedom and prosperity for all.
